That's the number of emails I received this past week while I was offline. Still sorting through them. Will likely take awhile to do. So - if you are one of the people who emailed me this past week, stay patient. I will reply... eventually.

I'm all for equality and everything, but putting two official languages on the back of your DVD cases makes it really hard to read. Damned near impossible.

I must be getting old.

But I am okay. The last half of 2009 wasn't the best of times and I will comment on this later on in 2010 when I finally process it all.
But for now, let's just say good riddance to it and welcome to the New Year.
A special thank you to those of you who stuck by me this year and never gave up hope even when things looked really bad.
And the award for The. Best. Hubby. Ever. Goes to mine. Without him, honestly, I don't think I would have had the will to get through the worst 8 weeks of my life. I love you Paul. More than you know.

We have had movies filmed here before - but it has been a a very long time, so this is a little bit of excitement for our little town. Read the story here: http://www.stcatharinesstandard.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1503137

Who's in it? Check this out:

(Pictures later)

So, several months ago our upstairs bathroom had an overflow issue that resulted in the ruination of the bathroom floor (upstairs), the office ceiling and floor (main level) and the basement bathroom ceiling and carpet. It was hell dealing with the insurance company who didn't send out a claims person for weeks, then didn't offer a settlement for weeks. Then when they did, they neglected to mention that we had to have the repairs done within two months of the claim date - which had already passed anyway. So I managed to get an extension.

Not that it helped. It took FOREVER to get the contractors to show up to do a quote. Cripes - I couldn't give them my money! FINALLY, ONE out of four that we called showed up. He was within our budget and could do it inside the timeline, so we hired him. He and his partner are here today working on our upstairs bathroom.

But my beef really is - why don't contractors return thier calls? Or show up for appointments THEY SET? It drives me nuts waiting around for people who never show up.
